October Update.... NCW, Jibapalooza, and Camryn's Birthday

I participated in National Chemistry Week this year. It was fun to do the experiments with the kids. They seemed to have had a wonderful time. Some of them were not very well behaved though. I now have more sympathy for Ryan and his profession.

I went home during the last weekend of the month. Saturday while Ryan turkey hunted all day, I went with my sister to the second anual Jibapalooza. A party up at Blue Knob... all decked out for Halloween and snow hauled in for the snowboarders. It actually snowed for real though... about 3 inches..haha.

Sunday, we went to church, to Ryan's football game, and then to Camryn's first birthday party. It was sooo nice. I can't believe she is already a year old!!! Time sure flies by. In 2 and 1/2 weeks, it will be Thanksgiving already! I am so excited for that though!

Friday the 13th

Beginning Thursday, October 12, 2006, Lake Erie decided to throw-up on Buffalo, Ny. We got 1-2 feet of very wet, heavy snow. By Friday, much of Western New York was without power (around 400,000 people including me). It is amazing how much work you can get done without the TV or computer on! I got my whole house cleaned! It was kinda neat to be without power, but it was kinda cold and dark though once night time came. Thank goodness my power came back this morning. Some people may not regain power until next weekend!

This was a record-breaking snowfall for this time of the year. It was really weird to see trees with leaves (especially green ones) absolutely covered in snow! Most of the snow has melted, so now everything is flooded and limbs/trees are down everywhere. It looks like a tornado went through or a hurricane hit.

Some of these pictures are compliments of Joe (click the link for his take on the snow storm).

Is this October... are you sure?!?

Snow!

More snow!

Why yes, see the colored leaves on the trees that were victims of the snow?
Aww look how beautiful the fall foliage is... with 2 feet of snow...haha

Oh, and the poor stop sign too

The snow was even too heavy for this plane that is tipped so it looks as if it is ready for takeoff!

Who says Christmas just comes once a year?

Last weekend, I went home because my sister was up from Florida. It was such a nice weekend. We kinda had Thanksgiving and Christmas with her since she will not be able to get home for those holidays. We had the big meal, exchanged gifts, and everything. It was sooo wonderful!

It was also homecoming weekend. I did Jalynn's hair, nails, and makeup for the dance. I went to the parade and the football game. Sunday, I got to watch the boys play some football. Boy, I can't wait to be able to start playing again... soon, I hope!
